Various Easy Card ticket vending machines converted to provide full service
Twenty machines have been converted to allow for both cash and credit card transactions.
(MIAMI, December 8, 2014) – In order to make it easier and more convenient for Metrorail patrons to purchase their fare media, Miami-Dade Transit converted a number of EASY Card Transit Vending Machines (TVMs) at various Metrorail stations.
MDT originally purchased a number of machines that only accepted credit card transactions, while others accept both cash and credit card transactions.
The Department purchased 20 conversion kits, identified its most popular TVMs, and worked to convert these originally credit card only machines so they have the capacity to accept both methods of payment.
By offering both cash and credit cards transactions, these newly converted TVMs make it easier and faster for customers to purchase their fare media in the way that is most convenient for them. The following stations are now equipped with additional full service machines:
Allapattah | Northside | Okeechobee |
Culmer | Douglas Road | Historic Overtown/Lyric Theatre |
Brickell | Hialeah | University |
Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. | Brownsville | South Miami |
Vizcaya | Tri-Rail | Dadeland North |
Coconut Grove | Palmetto |
