Transit Service Extended for Ultra Music Festival 2015

Metrorail and Metromover trains will run until approximately 1 a.m. on event nights

(MIAMI, March 25, 2015) - Miami-Dade Transit will extend its Metrorail and Metromover service to accommodate the large crowds expected to attend the 2015 Ultra Music Festival in Bayfront Park in downtown Miami. The Ultra Music Festival is taking place Friday, March 27, Saturday, March 28 and Sunday, March 29, 2015.

Metrorail and Metromover service will be extended to 1 a.m. and Transit Supervisors will be available at the Government Center Metrorail station to assist passengers as needed.

To avoid long lines at the ticket vending machines at Metrorail stations, Miami-Dade Transit is encouraging all Ultra Music Festival goers to purchase and load an EASY Card or EASY Ticket prior to the event. Metrorail and most Metrobus routes (except for express routes and circulators) charge $2.25 per trip. The cost to transfer from rail to bus, or from bus to rail is $0.60 when using an EASY Card or EASY Ticket. Those paying cash on a bus must pay the full fare when transferring.

Transit users who will be taking multiple trips on Metrobus and Metrorail can get a better value when purchasing a  1-Day Pass for $5.65. This pass allows for unlimited travel on Metrobus and Metrorail until 2 a.m. the next morning.

Metromover is free for all patrons. Parking is available at most Metrorail stations at a cost of $4.50 per day.

Both EASY Cards and EASY Tickets are available at EASY Card ticket vending machines located at all Metrorail stations, at the Golden Glades Park & Ride lot, and at EASY Card sales outlets located throughout Miami-Dade County.

For general transit information, the public can download the Miami-Dade Transit Tracker app for free on their iPhone or Android. Riders can also register to receive Rider Alerts. Transit information is also available via Facebook and Twitter.
