For the next several months, there will be reduced parking capacity at the Dadeland South Metrorail station. Due to infrastructure refurbishments, there will be up to 50 less parking spaces available. The location of the impacted parking spaces will vary per floor. Please pardon our dust as we improve our facilities to serve you better.
MDT will be performing track repairs adjacent to Northside Metrorail Station, causing periodic lane closures along NW 79 St between NW 30 Ave and NW 31 Ave. These lane closures will take place from Friday, February 21st to Monday, March 31, 2014 every weekend beginning Fridays at 8 p.m. until Mondays at 5 a.m. During these periods, all westbound lanes will be closed and there will be two-way traffic on the eastbound side of NW 79 St.
In an effort to ensure that Metrobuses remain as clean and tidy as possible, MDT has decided to replace the original fabric-covered seats with fiberglass inserts. These new seats are stain-resistant, easy to clean and comfortably contour to the passenger’s body. In addition, they do not trap dirt and odor the way traditional fabric seats do. To date, 205 buses have been retrofitted with the new fiberglass seat inserts.
Another tactic in the battle towards keeping buses clean has been the inclusion of disposable bags on board. By providing a trash receptacle on board, it makes it easier and more convenient for passengers to place their garbage in the proper place. At the end of their bus runs, Bus Operators simply dispose of the full trash bags.
