Miami-Dade Transit will be operating on a Sunday schedule on Thursday, Nov. 26, 2015 – Thanksgiving Day.
On Friday, Nov. 27, 2015, Miami-Dade Transit will provide regular weekday service, with the exception of service on Metrobus Route 95 Express from Golden Glades, which will be slightly less frequent.
Miami-Dade Transit is now part of the new Department of Transportation and Public Works - 14 Oct 2015
The new Department of Transportation and Public Works (DTPW) has been created to improve the sustainability of our transportation networks as part of a wider goal of creating more vibrant, livable, sustainable cities and improving the quality of life for our residents.
DTPW will include the functions of Miami-Dade Transit, along with the County Engineer, Traffic Operations, Construction and Maintenance, and Highway Planning, as well as the Passenger Transportation Regulation function from the Regulatory and Economic Resources Department.
Due to a power loss, the Park and Ride lot on NW 186 St. and 73 Ave. is temporarily closed and is expected to reopen on Nov. 22, 2015. We urge our passengers to please plan accordingly, and we apologize for the inconvenience.
Starting Thursday, October 22, 2015, there will be an additional afternoon trip to and from Marathon Key on Route 301 Dade-Monroe Express. As a result there will be two mid-afternoon trips from Marathon to Florida City, at 3:30 p.m. and 4:00 p.m., instead of the current single trip departing at 3:45 p.m.
Beginning Monday, June 1, 2015, Route A bus service on the Venetian Causeway will be temporarily detoured (map) due to bridge construction work, and will provide temporary service only between Biscayne Island (Toll Plaza) at N. Venetian Drive and Meridian Avenue and 18 Street in Miami Beach.
Route A passengers wishing to continue traveling westbound to the mainland during the construction period should consider using alternative connecting beach routes: L, M, 115/117 Mid-North Beach Connection, or Route S, which provides service to Downtown Miami. The South Beach Local provides service on the beach along Dade Boulevard and the Venetian Causeway to Belle Isle. All other routes provide connections between Lennox and Meridian Avenue along 17 Street.
