Reduced Vehicle capacity at the University Metrorail Station parking lot - 14 Oct 2016

Beginning now until November 30, 2016, there will be fewer available parking spots for vehicles at the University Metrorail Station. The lot is being refurbished as part of the realignment of Dickinson Drive. Additional parking is available at the South Miami or Douglas Road Metrorail Stations.

Luxury Sedan Limousine License Lottery Drawing October 3, 2016 - 28 Sep 2016

The Department of Transportation and Public Works Passenger Transportation Regulatory Division will hold a lottery drawing for 10 Luxury Sedan Limousine Licenses on Monday, October 3, 2016. The random selection drawing for the 2014/2016 application cycle will take place at the Miami-Dade County Board of County Commissioner Chambers, 111 NW 1st Street, Miami, Florida 33128 at 9:00 a.m.

Applicants do not need to be present to win and the event will be will be televised on Miami-Dade TV. Contact your local cable provider for the channel in your area or view it online at

Commuter Reduced Fare Program - 06 Jul 2016

This new program offers Miami-Dade County residents, whose annual income is between $17,820 and $23,760 a specially-coded EASY Card that will allow them to ride Metrobus and Metrorail at half fare. Commuter Reduced Fare card holders will have the option to load the card with monetary value, a 1-Month Pass for $56.25, a 7-Day Pass for $14.60, or a 1-Day Pass for $2.80.

Transportation Network Entities (TNE) preliminary license applications - 13 May 2016

On May 3, 2016, Ordinance 16-42 was adopted providing for the licensing and regulation of Transportation Network Entities (TNE) as well as TNE drivers and vehicles.  The ordinance provides for the issuance of preliminary licenses after the effective date of this ordinance. These preliminary licenses will be valid for 30 days. The Department of Transportation and Public Works will be accepting TNE preliminary license applications beginning Monday, May 16, 2016.  The application form can be obtained online or at our office located at 601 NW 1st Ct., 18th Floor, Miami, FL 33136. Applications may be submitted by mail or delivered in person to the same address, or submitted by email.
