      Effective June 1, 2009, Miami-Dade Transit will stop selling tokens, but you can continue using tokens to pay your fare until the implementation of the new EASY Card Adobe Reader fare collection system. You will be able to transfer the value of your unused tokens to your EASY Card.

    Transfers within Miami-Dade Transit

    Miami-Dade County Transit also connects to transit systems for municipalities and transit outside of MDT.

     
    Bus-to-Bus (includes local-bus-to-local-bus and express-bus-to-local-bus)

    When boarding, deposit your $2 fare and the 50¢ transfer fee.  Ask the bus operator for a transfer at that time.  Don't wait until later. Give this transfer to the operator of your second bus.  Reduced-fare riders: pay $1 fare plus 25¢ transfer fee.

    Local Bus-to-Express Bus

    When boarding a local bus, deposit your $2 fare and buy a 50¢ transfer.  When boarding an express bus, give your transfer to the express-bus operator and pay a 35¢ upgrade fare.  Reduced fare riders: $1 fare, 25¢ transfer, and 15¢ upgrade.

    Bus-to-Rail

    To transfer from a local or express bus to rail, pay your $2 fare (or $2.35 express-bus fare) and buy a 50¢ bus-to-rail transfer from the operator as soon as you board the bus.  Insert the transfer, with the arrow pointing forward, into the slot at the front of the rail fare gate.  Reduced-fare riders pay a 25¢ transfer fee.

    Rail-to-Bus

    Rail-to-bus transfers are available for 50¢ from transfer machines at all Metrorail stations.  Remember to get your transfer at the station where you board.  When you board the bus, give the transfer to the bus operator.  Reduced-fare riders pay a 25¢ transfer fee.

    Important: The station where you board Metrorail is stamped on the face of the transfer. Bus operators will not accept transfers from the station where you exit the Metrorail system.

    Mover-to-Rail

    Ride Metromover free and exit at Government Center Station or Brickell Station.  Follow the signs to the Metrorail fare gates.  Deposit $2, a token, or use your Metropass to enter the Metrorail station area and board the train.  Reduced-fare riders: free ride on Metromover, $1 for Metrorail.

    Rail-to-Mover

    Get off at Government Center Station or Brickell Station and follow the signs to the Metromover fare gates.  Just push through the gate.  Riding Metromover is free when you transfer from Metrorail.

    Bus-to-Mover

    Pay the $2 local fare (or $2.35 express-bus fare) on Metrobus. Rides are free on Metromover. Reduced-fare riders: $1 local fare or $1.15 express-bus fare, then ride free on Metromover.

    Ride free on Metromover. No transfer ticket required. Deposit $2 on the bus ($2.35 express bus).  Reduced-fare riders: ride Metromover free, then pay $1 local or $1.15 express-bus fare.

    Deposit your $2 bus fare and 50¢ for a bus-to-rail transfer. Ride Metromover free.  Use your bus-to-rail transfer on Metrorail.  Reduced-fare riders: $1 local fare, 25¢ transfer fee, and free ride on Metromover.

    Rail-to-Mover-to-Bus

    Deposit the $2 fare in the Metrorail fare gate. Get a 50¢ rail-to-bus transfer at the station where you board the train. Hold on to the transfer until boarding the bus.  Enter Metromover through the rail-to-mover entry gates and ride free. Reduced-fare riders: $1 local fare, plus 25¢ transfer fee.

    South Miami-Dade Busway

    Transferring to Metrorail is free from any northbound bus traveling on the South Miami-Dade Busway. You must board the bus at a northbound stop along the busway or at a northbound stop on any of the following routes:


    Deposit your $2 bus fare (or $2.35 express-bus fare) and ask for a FREE bus-to-rail transfer. Use your bus-to-rail transfer at the Dadeland South Metrorail station.
