The Transit Service Center on the second level of the Government Center Metrorail station is located at 111 NW 1st St. in downtown Miami. It is open Monday through Friday, from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m., excluding holidays.

This center offers the following services:

Passes - Monthly passes, including the Metropass and Discount Metropass; and the 7-Day Visitor Passport.

Golden Passport and Patriot Passport: Residents 65 years and older and Social Security recipients under 65 years of age ride free with the Golden Passport. Honorably discharged United States veterans earning $22,000 or less annually ride free with the Patriot Passport. You can register for a Golden/Patriot Passport between 8 a.m. and 4:30 p.m., excluding holidays.

Tokens - Buy a roll of 10 tokens for $19.50 at the Transit Service Center, or insert a $20 bill in a change machine at a Metrorail station and obtain 10 tokens plus 2 quarters.

Special Permits/Fares - Permits are available for senior citizens, most people with disabilities, Medicare recipients, preschoolers and local students (grades 1-12). These passengers can ride Metrobus and Metrorail at the reduced fare, or may purchase the $50 monthly Discount Metropass. You must have a valid reduced-fare identification to ride at the reduced fare. Obtain reduced-fare IDs on weekdays, between 8 a.m. and 4:30 p.m., excluding holidays.

Bike & Ride Permits - Cyclists can take a single-seat, two-wheeler on extended trips anytime and just about anywhere in Miami-Dade County on many Metrobus routes, Metrorail, and Metromover. You can obtain a Bike & Ride permit at the Transit Service Center between 8 a.m. and 4:30 p.m., excluding holidays; or obtain a permit from security personnel at any Metrorail station.
