Never underestimate the Power of a Dollar

Half of Miami-Dade County’s employees participate in giving to the United Way via payroll deduction – this is really wonderful!

But that means half of the employees within the County do not participate in this manner (If you do participate in the fundraising activities, however, this is wonderful, as well):

• If each one of those employees gave a dollar per pay period, bi-weekly – that would be the equivalent of: just $26.00 annually
• With approximately 16,000 employees contributing one dollar every two weeks, it could amount to $416,000
• If that $416,000 went to the United Way’s Community Plan (which nearly doubles the dollar to: $1.98), approximately $823,608 could be raised!!  Yes, this is a lofty goal, but it's doable!
• Even if 25% of this group began to participate in this manner, or 40%......the money pledged would be significant!

The “Dollar” has Power!
Encourage your fellow employees in your departments that are not participating in bi-weekly payroll donations toward the United Way, to begin by giving one dollar a pay period (only $26.00 annually). For more information, contact your United Way coordinator.
