Water and Sewer construction project may temporarily affect water pressure

Beginning Thursday, September 22, 2011, the Miami-Dade Water and Sewer Department (WASD) will start the installation of water valves on a 54-inch water main on Red Road between West 18th and 49th streets in Hialeah.

This project is necessary to assist in the continued proactive repair to the transmission line, as well as facilitate the relocation of a portion of the water line due to a Department of Transportation road repair project.

The installation of these valves will allow WASD to redirect water flow throughout these construction projects without interrupting water service. Residents in the Miami Lakes and Doral areas may experience cloudy water for a few days. There is no need to boil water as there is no boil water order being issued.

There may also be intermittent low pressure throughout the three week project, so residents are being asked to conserve the water they use especially during the high peak times of the evenings and early morning hours.

For water quality questions, please call 786-552-4747. For 24-hour WASD emergencies, please call 305-274-9272.
