Water main break being repaired, road to reopen by midnight

(MIAMI, April 24, 2012) – An eight-inch water main ruptured on Southwest 152nd Street and 87th Court. Residents are being asked to avoid the area as the road will be closed to traffic on both east and west bound lanes between Southwest 87th Court and 87th Avenue until midnight when the road is expected to reopen.

The pipe repairs are expected to be completed by 7 p.m. this evening. However, some residents may experience some cloudy water for the next 24 to 48 hours. Let the faucet run for a few minutes until the water clears. The water is safe for drinking, cooking and bathing.

It is the priority of the Miami-Dade Water and Sewer Department to provide safe, reliable service to its customers. For additional information about Department services and programs, visit
