12-inch sewer line being repaired

(MIAMI, May 26, 2012) – Miami-Dade Water and Sewer Department staff is making repairs to a 12-inch sewer line that broke at Southwest 112th Avenue and Southwest 107th Street. The intersection is closed to traffic while repairs are being completed.

Sewage entered storm drains that exit into a nearby canal. Signs are being posted at the affected canal that runs on Southwest 112th Avenue near the Florida Turnpike. Residents are advised to avoid swimming, fishing or boating in the canals until the signs have been removed.

The pipe is expected to be repaired and the intersection reopened by midnight.
