Traffic advisory for Coral Gables and City of Miami

(MIAMI, September 6, 2012) – The Miami-Dade Water and Sewer Department (WASD) will begin an emergency project at 9:30 a.m., Friday, September 7th, which will run 24-hours a day until its completion next week.

The department will place access manholes at three locations that will result in temporary lane closures. The installation of these manholes will provide access to the existing large diameter water main that is in need of repair.

The construction will begin on Bird Road (Southwest 40th Street) and Southwest 57th Avenue where the westbound left turn lane will be closed. Once completed, the construction will relocate to Bird Road and Anderson Road, where one eastbound lane will be closed. The final location will require an eastbound lane of traffic to be closed to accommodate construction at Bird Road and Douglas Road (Southwest 37th Avenue).

It is the priority of the Miami-Dade Water and Sewer Department to provide safe, reliable service to its customers. For additional information about Department services and programs, visit www.miamidade.gov/water.
