Water and Sewer construction project may temporarily affect water pressure

(MIAMI, December 5, 2012) – The Miami-Dade Water and Sewer Department (WASD) is replacing portions of a 54-inch water main on Red Road, from West 13th Street to West 60th Street in the City of Hialeah.

This project, part of the Infrastructure Assessment and Replacement Program, begins on Friday, December 7, 2012 and will be completed by mid-January 2013. The continued proactive replacement of portions of this transmission line will minimize potential pipe failures.

As a result, some residents in the Northwest and Northeast areas of Miami-Dade County may experience intermittent lower than normal water pressure until the project is completed. Customers are asked to conserve water, especially during high peak times of early morning and evening hours.

It is the priority of the Miami-Dade Water and Sewer Department to provide safe, reliable service to its customers. For additional information about the Department’s services and programs, visit www.miamidade.gov/water. For 24-hour emergencies, please call 305-274-9272.
