Pipe replacement may cause localized areas of cloudy water

(MIAMI, January 14, 2013) – As part of the Miami-Dade Water and Sewer Department’s Infrastructure Assessment and Replacement Program, the department will be replacing segments of a 48-inch water line beginning Wednesday, January 16, 2013. This project may cause cloudy water for residents and businesses living near the replacement sites. It is expected that work will be completed in approximately three weeks. Pipe replacement locations include and will be completed sequentially beginning at:

• Miller Road (SW 56 Street) and SW 73 Avenue - One westbound lane will be closed on Miller between SW 69 and 73 Avenues.
• Blue Road and University Drive – intermittent traffic delays
• LeJeune Road and Vilabella Avenue - One southbound lane will be closed on LeJeune Road between Vilabella and Ponce de Leon Boulevard. 

If you experience cloudy water, let the tap run until it clears. The water is safe to drink and there is no need to boil the water.
