On-going repairs on south Miami-Dade County waterline to result in lower water pressure

(MIAMI, February 12, 2013) – The Miami-Dade Water and Sewer Department (WASD) continues to replace segments of a 48-inch water line along Southwest 87th Avenue in South Miami-Dade County. The construction will affect water pressure in the surrounding areas of Pinecrest, Palmetto Bay and Cutler Bay for the duration of the four-week project. Work will be performed daily from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. as well as 24-hour rotations on an as needed basis in order to expedite the completion of the project.

Traffic will be rerouted to accommodate construction on an as needed basis.

Area residents may experience cloudy water during the repairs.  If there is cloudy water, simply let the tap run until it clears. The water is safe to drink and there is no need to boil the water.

The department urges consumers to conserve water usage during peak consumption times.

It is the priority of the Miami-Dade Water and Sewer to provide safe, reliable service to its customers. For additional information about Department services and program, visit www.miamidade.gov/water
