Water and Sewer Department repairs to result in lower water pressure for northwest Miami-Dade County

(MIAMI, April 8, 2013) – The Miami-Dade Water and Sewer Department began repairs today to the 54-inch water main on Red Road (also known as West Fourth Avenue in Hialeah) as part of the Infrastructure Assessment and Replacement Program. This project will result temporarily in lower water pressure throughout the Northwest portion of Miami-Dade County.

Although consumers may experience lower water pressures during this repair job, the water quality is not affected.  The water in the affected area continues to meet all local, state and federal drinking water standards and is safe to drink.

The repair work will take place for the next three days on Red Road between West 13th and West 20th streets. Once repairs are completed, water pressures will return to normal.

It is the priority of the Miami-Dade Water and Sewer to provide safe, reliable service to its customers. For additional information about Department services and program, visit www.miamidade.gov/water.
