Miami-Dade Water and Sewer Department inspection of pipes may cause low pressure, cloudy water

(MIAMI, June 10, 2013) – The Miami-Dade Water and Sewer Department (WASD) is proactively inspecting the 72-inch water main that runs along Southwest 64th Street between Southwest 87th and 117th avenues. The department will use a pipe diver, an instrument that records instances of structural defects by utilizing acoustical technology.

While this inspection takes place, between 9 p.m. tonight and 1 a.m. Tuesday morning, some residents in the area may experience lower than normal water pressure and/or cloudy water. The water is safe to drink and customers are advised to just let the water run until it clears.

WASD will also inspect the 48-inch water main on Miller Road between Southwest 117th and 137th avenues beginning at 9 p.m. on Wednesday night.

It is the priority of the Miami-Dade Water and Sewer Department to provide safe, reliable service to its customers. For additional information about Department services and programs, visit www.miamidade.gov/water.
