Portion of LeJeune Road to be closed for four weeks

(MIAMI, June 12, 2013) – The Miami-Dade Water and Sewer Department (WASD) is replacing portions of a deteriorated 16-inch water line that runs along Le Jeune Road (Southwest 42nd Avenue) between South Dixie Highway and Castania Avenue. The project, which begins on Saturday, June 15th, will be completed in two phases by WASD in-house crews.

Phase 1 is on LeJeune Road between South Dixie Highway and Menendez Avenue. The work will be completed on Sunday, June 16th and one northbound lane on LeJeune will remain open during this time.

Phase 2, beginning on Monday, June 17th, will require LeJeune Road to be completely closed as the pipe is replaced between Menendez and Castania Avenues. Due to an expedited work schedule, the job is expected to be completed within four weeks.

Detours away from the construction site will be clearly marked for drivers.

It is the priority of the Miami-Dade Water and Sewer Department to provide safe, reliable service to its customers. For additional information about Department services and programs, visit www.miamidade.gov/water.
