Two upcoming Water and Sewer Department repair projects to affect traffic

(MIAMI, June 19, 2013)

West Kendall

Miami-Dade Water and Sewer Department (WASD) crews are repairing a leaking water main on Southwest 120th Street and Southwest 137th Avenue. This project will require the closing of westbound traffic on Southwest 120th Street and two of the three southbound lanes of traffic on Southwest 137th Avenue.

Drivers are being asked to avoid the area until the repair work is completed by midnight.

Red Road Project

On Thursday night, June 20, WASD will be shutting down the 54-inch water main on Northwest 57th Avenue (also known as Red Road) between West 33rd and 60th Streets for repairs. Traffic on Red Road will be reduced to one lane in each direction. This project is expected to be completed within two weeks.

Residents near this Red Road project may experience lower than normal water pressure during this time, as well as cloudy water. Just let the water run until clear. It is safe to drink and use for cooking.

It is the priority of the Miami-Dade Water and Sewer Department to provide safe, reliable service to its customers. If you have any questions or concerns about your service, call the Miami-Dade Water and Sewer Department’s Communications Center at 305-274-9272, 24 hours a day.  For additional information about Department services and programs, visit www.miamidade.gov/water.
