Miami-Dade Water and Sewer Department infrastructure upgrades to result in low pressure for western portion of County

(MIAMI, August 30, 2013) – Upcoming infrastructure upgrades taking place in western Unincorporated Miami-Dade County will result in low water pressure for the month of September.

The first project begins tonight and will impact traffic while the construction takes place over night. Beginning tonight at 8 p.m. and concluding the following morning at 6 a.m. Water and Sewer Department crews will be replacing a portion of a 48-inch water pipe at Southwest 97th Avenue and Southwest 64th Street. This will require the east bound turn lane on Southwest 97th Avenue to be closed. This project will be completed on Tuesday, Sept. 3rd.

Customers who live in the area west of Southwest 92nd Avenue between Southwest Eighth Street to Southwest 88th Street will experience lower than normal water pressure.

It is the priority of the Miami-Dade Water and Sewer Department to provide safe, reliable service to its customers. For additional information about Department services and programs, visit www.miamidade.gov/water.
