Precautionary boil water order for portion of Aventura

(MIAMI, June 2, 2014) – A precautionary boil water order has been issued for 16 apartment buildings in the Point East community in Aventura. The affected area is from Biscayne Boulevard at NE 178th Street to the Bay.

Miami-Dade Water and Sewer Department (WASD) crews are on site making repairs to a 12-inch water main break at 3000 Marcos Drive. Water is expected to be restored by 6:30 p.m

Once service is restored, all water used for drinking or cooking purposes should be boiled until further notice prior to consumption.  Water should be brought to a full rolling boil for at least one minute.  There is no problem with using the water for bathing and other household needs.

It is the priority of the Miami-Dade Water and Sewer Department to provide safe, reliable service to its customers. For additional information about Department services and programs, visit www.miamidade.gov/water.
