Miami-Dade Water and Sewer Department wins Peak Performance Award

(MIAMI, July 23, 2014) – The Miami-Dade Water and Sewer Department won the Gold Peak Performance award from the National Association of Clean Water Agencies (NACWA). This recognition is presented to the Department’s North District Wastewater Treatment Plant.

NACWA’s Peak Performance Awards recognize member agency facilities for outstanding compliance of their National Pollutant Discharge Elimination System (NPDES) permit limits.  The Gold Award recognizes that the North District Wastewater Treatment Plant was in 100 percent compliance with its NPDES permit in calendar year 2013.

“This recognition would not have been possible without the outstanding job performed by the plant’s operations and maintenance staff on a 24/7 basis,” said Bill Johnson WASD Director. “This demonstrates the commitment WASD employees have to provide vital services to the community.”

It is the priority of the Miami-Dade Water and Sewer to provide safe, reliable service to its customers. For additional information about Department services and program, visit www.miamidade.gov/water
