Water main repairs on Red Road to impact water pressure in Northwest Miami-Dade County

(MIAMI, August 4, 2014) – The Miami-Dade Water and Sewer Department (WASD) will begin repairs to portions of the 54-inch water main on Red Road (West Fourth Avenue) in Hialeah. The department will shut down the main and the repairs will be made in stages along Red Road from the Preston Water Treatment Plant located at West Second Avenue and West 13th Street  to West 56th Street.

As a result, residents in the Northwest portion of Miami-Dade County, including the municipalities of Hialeah, Miami Lakes and Opa Locka, will experience lower than normal water pressure during the six week repair project.

It is the priority of the Miami-Dade Water and Sewer Department to provide safe, reliable service to its customers. For additional information about Department services and programs, visit www.miamidade.gov/water.
