Water main repair on Red Road to impact water pressure in Northwest Miami-Dade County
(MIAMI, October 4, 2014) – The Miami-Dade Water and Sewer Department (WASD) began repairs on a portion of the 54-inch water main on Red Road (West Fourth Avenue in Hialeah) in Hialeah. The department has shut down the main to accommodate making the repair at Red Road and West 40th Street.
As a result, residents in the Northwest portion of Miami-Dade County, including the municipalities of Hialeah, Miami Lakes and Opa Locka, experienced lower than normal water pressure for the duration of the repair. A repair schedule will be released once it is available.
Initial work began at 11 p.m. Friday and lasted through 5 a.m. this morning. There may have been minor interruptions to traffic during these hours.
It is the priority of the Miami-Dade Water and Sewer Department to provide safe, reliable service to its customers. For additional information about Department services and programs, visit www.miamidade.gov/water.
