Kids Outreach Program
The Water-Use Efficiency Program developed the Children's Outreach Campaign to better educate the youth of Miami-Dade County by instilling an appreciation for water and the need to protect our natural resources. The campaign includes the outreach efforts of the Miami-Dade Water and Sewer Department and local partners in educating Miami-Dade County youth on how to use water more efficiently.
D-rop is the Miami-Dade County Water Conservation outreach mascot, promoting initiatives on social media such as Facebook and YouTube, as well as the annual Every Drop Counts Kids Poster Contest. She travels around Miami-Dade County educating young citizens on the many ways they can conserve water.
Every Drop Counts Kids Poster Contest
Miami-Dade County elementary school students are invited to participate in the Every Drop Counts Kids Poster Contest. Using original and creative artwork, students can express the benefits of water and energy conservation -- and get a free T-shirt and having a chance to win other prizes!
