    If this is the first time you are watching a Miami-Dade County webcast and you are experiencing trouble, many users can solve the most common problems on their own by reading the answers to the following Frequently Asked Questions.


    What are the system requirements?

    Minimum System Requirements:

    • Microsoft Windows 2000 or XP
       
    • Windows Media Player (Click here to download latest version)
       
    • Sound Card
       
    • Speakers or headphones
       
    • Internet Explorer or Netscape Navigator (Note: Specific versions will depend on the version of Windows Media Player installed on your computer.)
       
    • Best viewed on a high-speed Internet connection. If you have a dial-up connection, try the audio-only setting.

    I keep hearing a clicking sound. How do I stop it?

    You may hear a clicking sound in the player each time it refreshes. The sound is a function of the default settings in the Microsoft operating system and Internet Explorer. To turn this clicking sound off, follow these steps:

    For Windows XP:

    1. Click  Start» Settings» Control Panel, switch to Classic View and double-click Sounds and Audio Devices. The Sounds and Audio Devices Properties dialog box appears.
       
    2.  Select the Sounds tab.
       
    3. In the Program Events window, scroll to the Windows Explorer section and select Start Navigation.
       
    4. In the Sounds pull-down menu, select None and click OK.


    For Windows 2000
    :

    1. Click Start» Settings» Control Panel and double-click Sounds and Multimedia. This will open a Sounds and Multimedia Properties dialog box.
       
    2. In the Sounds Events window, scroll to the Windows Explorer section and select Start Navigation.
       
    3. In the Name pull-down menu, select None and click OK.

    When I click on the webcast link, I only get a blank page.

    This is caused by the "pop-up" blocker you may have installed on your computer.  In most cases all you need to do is allow "pop-ups" for this site and you will be able to see the webcasts.

    When I click on the webcast, link I get either a DNS (domain name server) error message or a "Page Can't be Found" message.

    Your proxy settings may not be configured correctly. To check your proxy settings:

    1. Open Internet Explorer.
       
    2. Click Tools» Internet Options.
       
    3. Click the Connections tab.
       
    4. Click the LAN Settings button. Make sure the box next to "Bypass proxy server for local addresses" is checked. This should fix the problem.
       
    5. Return to the webcast hyperlink and click it again to begin viewing.
