The Parks, Recreation & Open Spaces Department offers a variety of athletic programs for children and adults of all ages and ability levels. Mayor's Cup Youth Golf Tournament

Partnership: Golf Miami-Dade
The Youth Golf Champioship Series for boys and girls ages 6-17 took place during the summer. Five qualifying golf tournaments, held at each of the five Miami-Dade County golf courses between June and July will led up to the Champioship Tournament. Top golfers from each of the five qualifying events will be invited to compete at the Mayor's Cup Youth Golf Championship at Crandon Park in early August. This event is only for Miami-Dade Summer program participants.
Annual Tamiami Park Baseball Tournament
Miami-Parks summer camps programs will compete against each other in the annual Tamiami Park Basketball Tournament. Over 4 days in July children aged 14 and under will compete for trophies and award. This event is only for Miami-Dade Summer program participants.
Annual Tamiami Park Dance Contest
Miami-Parks summer camps programs will compete against each other in the annual Tamiami Park Dance Contest. Children aged 14 and under will show off their dancing skills while competing for team awards. This event is only for Miami-Dade Summer program participants.

Miami-Parks summer camps programs and local recreational youth swim organizations will compete against each in the annual Mayor's Cup Swim meet. Children aged 14 and under will compete for awards in several events and age groups. This event is only for Miami-Dade Summer program participants.
Youth Fair Cross Country Invitational

In partnership with the MIami-Dade Youth Fair athletic program Larry and Penny Thompson Park will play host to the Youth Fair Cross Country Invitational meets. Team and individual champions will be crowned in the high school and middle school divisions. The meets are the largest Miami-Dade County only meets as all public schools and private schools are invited to attend.

Championship March 29 to April 1
The 2018 Miami Junior Tennis Cup will series of events open to girls and boys in Miami-Dade County. To accomodate all skill levels and ages 7-14 years of old, the competition is broken into unique events. The Miami Junior Tennis Cup (7-12 years old) at the Miami Open showcased youth tennis at one of the world's highest profile professional tennis tournaments. Junior players, ages 7-12, compete in the Orange and Green Ball divisions. The first two rounds will be played offsite at the Tamiami Tennis Center on March with the Semifinals and Finals being played at the Miami Open for the Mayor's Cup.

The annual event Miami Junior Tennis Cup at Crandon Park Tennis Center is open for kids aged 12-14. This annual sanctioned tournament will play host to the top youth tennis players where they will compete for the coveted Mayor's Cup.
Pop Warner Football Champioship

In November, the GMSFPW League hosts their annual Sean Taylor Classic. The GMSFPW League currently has 25 member programs run by optimist clubs, youth activity associations, and parks with Miami-Dade County. The Sean Taylor Football Classic serves as the "Super Bowl" for the league of football teams ranging in ages of 6-15. over 4 days the top teams in two divisions and seven weight classes will compete for the 14 championship trophies.
Miami Soccer Festival

The annual Miami Soccer Festival exists to promote, celebrate and share the game of soccer with the community of Miami beyond within a healthy family environment. Kids aged 14 and under are welcomed to compete in different age groups for the coveted Mayor's Cup. The family event will also include and interactive soccer village with mascots, music, food vendors, kid's activities and more. All net proceeds are distributed jointly by co-organizers Soccer 5 Foundation and Miami-Dade Parks Foundation to promote more spaces to play soccer and more places to learn soccer within our community.
