Announcement  Info  :   Work under this Contract includes furnishing of all supervision, labor, materials, equipment, tools and performing all necessary operations required to construct the Work in accordance with the Contract Documents. Work includes but is not limited to retrofitting 8 pump stations. Work consist of building and repairing stairs and handrails, replacing roofs, cleaning, sealing and aligning pipes and valves boxes, slip lining insert PVC pipe to existing corrugated metal pipes (CMP), furnishing and installing stainless steel louvers, furnishing and installing chain link fence, furnishing and installing quick releases for pump gratings, installing check valves and vacuum breakers, replacing flow switch brackets and bypass valves, retrofitting valve box, replacing fountain and aerator, furnishing and installing electrical motors for sluice gate, furnishing and installing generator, furnishing and installing Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition System (SCADA) including three tablets computer and providing all required electrical work in order to improve pumps operations. Work differs per pump station and detail of each station is specified on the Plans. LOCATION OF WORK: A.-The location of work to be performed under the terms of this Contract shall be as follows: 1. Basin 21 Pump Station / NW 22nd Ave. and NW 11th Street. 2. Biscayne Shore and NE 109th Street Pump Station. 3. Biscayne Shore and NE 110th Street Pump Station. 4. Biscayne Shore and NE 116th Street Pump Station / NE 116th Street and NE 14th Ave. 5. Arch Creek Pond / NE 143rd Street and NE 18th Avenue. 6. Minton Dam / NW 127th Street and NW 30th Ave. 7. Rucks Park / NE 139th Street and NE 4th Ave. 8. Ludlam (Control Structure) / SW 67th Ave. and 80th Street. B.-The exact location and limits of construction are as shown on the Plans accompanying these Contract Documents.
 
Technical  Certification  :   LICENSE REQUIREMENTS: At the time of Bid and pursuant to the requirements of Section 10-3 of the Code of Miami-Dade County, Florida and these Solicitation and Contract Documents, the Bidder must hold a valid, current, and active: a. Certificate of Competency from the County’s Construction Trades Qualifying Board as a General Engineering Contractor or as a Specialty Engineering Contractor, commensurate to the requirements of the Scope of Work, in one or more engineering crafts to include plant construction engineer. The specialty contractor shall subcontract with a qualified contractor any work which is incidental to the specialty but is specified in the aforementioned Code as being the work of other than that of the Engineering Specialty for which certified; or b. Certification, as a General Contractor, provided by the State of Florida Construction Industry Licensing Board, pursuant to the provisions of Section 489.115 of the Florida Statutes. INDEMNIFICATION AND INSURANCE REQUIREMENTS The Contractor shall furnish to Public Works and Waste Management Department, 111 NW 1 Street, Miami Florida 33128, Certificate(s) of Insurance which indicate that insurance coverage has been obtained which meets the requirements as outlined below: A. Worker’s Compensation Insurance for all employees of the Contractor as required by Florida Statute 440. B. Commercial General Liability Insurance on a comprehensive basis in an amount not less than $1,000,000 combined single limit per occurrence for bodily injury and property damage. Miami-Dade County must be shown as an additional insured with respect to this coverage. C. Automobile Liability Insurance covering all owned, non-owned and hired vehicles used in connection with the work, in an amount not less than $1,000,000 combined single limit per occurrence for bodily injury and property damage.
