Work under this Contract includes furnishing of all supervision, labor, materials, tools, equipment and performing all operations required to construct the Work in accordance with the Contract Documents. The proposed construction includes a 25’-0” wide pedestrian/bicycle shared-use riverwalk, featuring a minimum 16’ wide unobstructed concrete pathway, seawalls, lighting, landscaping, hardscape elements such as benches and trash receptacles, and all other necessary incidental items. The Project is composed of two (2) separate County parcels which will provide continuity to the Miami River Greenway Network within the boundaries of the City of Miami. LOCATION OF WORK Site 4 - Riverwalk on the north shore of the Miami River, beneath the Metrorail on SW 1st Avenue, adjacent to the existing "Mint" Development Walkway to the east. Site 5 -Riverwalk on the south shore of the Miami River, beneath the Metrorail on SW 1st Court, adjacent to the existing "Neo Vertika" Development Walkway to the west.
Technical Certification :
CONTRACTOR QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS 1. Include with the bid submittal package, copies of certifications and documentation that demonstrate that at the time of Bid and pursuant to the requirements of Section 10-3 of the Code of Miami-Dade County, Florida and these Solicitation Documents, the Bidder holds a valid, current, and active: a. Certificate of Competency from the County’s Construction Trades Qualifying Board as a General Engineering Contractor or as a Specialty Engineering Contractor, commensurate to the requirements of the Scope of Work, in one or more engineering crafts to include paving engineering contractor. The specialty contractor shall subcontract with a qualified contractor any work which is incidental to the specialty but is specified in the aforementioned Code as being the work of other than that of the Engineering Specialty for which certified; or b. Certification, as a general contractor, provided by the State of Florida Construction Industry Licensing Board, pursuant to the provisions of Section 489.115 of the Florida Statutes (F.S.). Additional Licensing Requirement 1. In addition to the above license(s), any contractor engaged in installing modifying, repairing, or maintaining roadway street lighting systems in Miami-Dade County must: a. Perform work under the direction of a Master Electrician that is either at the job site(s) or able to respond within (4) hours of notification; and b. Perform all work under the direct supervision of a Journeyman electrician present at the job site(s). Experience Requirement: 1. The Bidder, through full time personnel employed by the Bidder, must demonstrate its experience as the prime contractor in at least two completed projects with scopes comparable to the Project’s Scope of Work. Demonstrate the experience requirement by including along with the bid submittal package, a detailed Statement of Experience that identifies each project and includes the following information: a. Name of the Client/Owner, b. Client/Owner contact person and phone number for reference, c. Detailed description of work, d. Total dollar value of the contract, e. Contract duration, f. Statement or notation of whether Bidder is/was the prime contractor, and g. Results and status of the project. INDEMNIFICATION AND INSURANCE REQUIREMENTS The Contractor shall furnish to Public Works Waste Management Department, 111 NW 1 Street, Miami Florida 33128, Certificate(s) of Insurance which indicate that insurance coverage has been obtained which meets the requirements as outlined below: A. Worker’s Compensation Insurance for all employees of the Contractor as required by Florida Statute 440. Coverage to include United States Longshore and Harbor (USL&H) where applicable.. B. Commercial General Liability Insurance on a comprehensive basis, in an amount not less than $1,000,000 combined single limit per occurrence for bodily injury and property damage. Miami-Dade County must be shown as an additional insured with respect to this coverage. C. Automobile Liability Insurance covering all owned, non-owned and hired vehicles used in connection with the work, in an amount not less than $1,000,000,000 combined single limit per occurrence for bodily injury and property damage.
