Architectural and Engineering Services for Three Cultural Facilities

Miami-Dade County’s Department of Cultural Affairs will require professional architectural, engineering, and specialty consultant services for each of the following cultural facilities: (1)African Heritage Cultural Arts Center (AHCAC) / Location: 6161 NW 22 Avenue Miami, FL 33142 (2)Joseph Caleb Auditorium (Caleb)/ Location: 5400 NW 22 Avenue Miami, FL 33142 (3) Miami-Dade County Auditorium (MDCA)/ Location: 2901 West Flagler Street Miami, FL 33135 The selected consultant must provide detailed and prioritized master plans, detailed cost estimates, specifications, construction documents, bidding and award services, and construction administration services for the recommended improvements. The selected consultant shall complete an assessment of each facility’s present condition and provide recommended improvements based on the needs of each facility to optimize their programming goals. Assessment shall include all aspects of existing conditions including, but not limited to, architectural and acoustical features; ADA compliance; structural; mechanical; electrical; plumbing; fire protection; site drainage; landscaping; roofing; parking; sound and communication systems and equipment; theatrical systems and equipment; signage and way-finding; telecommunication systems; security; LEED certification (as applicable); and 40-year certification of buildings. Master planning services shall include conceptual plans and prioritized lists of recommended improvements with detailed cost estimates. The construction documents for each facility shall be phased based on the funding availability and/or as requested by the managing/user department. One qualified consultant will be retained with one non-exclusive Professional Services Agreement (PSA) for the scope defined for all (3) facilities with a maximum compensation of nine-hundred and twenty-four thousand dollars ($924,000) for an effective term of three years with two, one-year options to extend. Note that no minimum amount of work or compensation is guaranteed under this agreement. Furthermore, the two, one-year options to renew are based solely on the approval of the County Mayor or County Mayor’s designee. See Section 1.2 for Experience and Qualification Requirements.
