Late Payments

Parking Citations

All parking citations must be paid within 30 days of the date the citation is issued. Fees and other penalties may be added if the owner fails to pay by the due date. Parking citations left unpaid for more than 90 days will be reported to an outside collection/credit reporting agency.

If you have three or more parking citations or a disabled parking violation, you may receive a registration stop or tow order.

If you have citations in collections, the Parking Violations Bureau has given a collection agency the power to collect payment for these citations. While you can still pay your citation with the Clerk of the Court and Comptroller, you will have to pay the original fine and late penalties plus an additional 30 percent of the total.

Traffic Citations

A traffic citation may take up to three weeks to appear in the online system. If your citation does not appear in the system within two weeks, you can pay by mail or in person with a copy of the citation.

You cannot pay a traffic citation online or by phone unless the information is in the system. However, you are still responsible for complying with the requirements of your citation within 30 days of the issue date.

You may be subjected to a license suspension and late fees if your citation is not paid within 30 days.
