Commissioner Jordan press conference on $2.1 million workforce housing allocation from developer

MIAMI – Pasadena at the California Club, LLC, the newly approved residential community to be developed in District 1, will receive a substantial density bonus in exchange for a $2.1 million deposit into Miami-Dade County’s Affordable Housing Trust Fund (AHTF).

The Pasadena allocation to the County’s AHTF is the first by a major developer since the passage of the amended Workforce Housing Development Program ordinance. This deposit will assist the County in acquiring, constructing, and rehabbing more workforce housing units in Miami-Dade County.

“I am beyond thrilled to see the growing interest in the Workforce Housing Development Program,” said Miami-Dade County Commissioner Barbara Jordan. “None of this would be possible without our department staff, community stakeholders, and partners in the development community who worked tirelessly in revamping this program. I look forward to the new workforce housing program being one of our primary vehicles in addressing our affordable housing crisis.”
