Back to School Community Festival for District 2 students

MIAMI-DADE – Miami-Dade County Commissioner Jean Monestime will host a Back to School Community Festival on Friday, Aug. 4, beginning at 4 p.m., at Oak Grove Park, 690 NE 159th Street.

District 2 students will receive free new book bags, while supplies last. Students must be accompanied by parent, who must show proof of residency in District 2. The event also will feature health screenings, a bounce house, snow cones, popcorn and more.

“I thank our sponsors, partners and everyone involved in making this event possible so that the students in my district will be ready for a successful 2017-18 school year,” Commissioner Monestime said.
