Chairman Monestime helps secure $75,000 grant for Museum of Contemporary Art (MOCA)

(MIAMI-DADE, FL) – The Miami-Dade County Commission on June 30 approved a resolution sponsored by Chairman Jean Monestime to provide $75,000 in County funding to the Museum of Contemporary Art (MOCA) in North Miami.

The money, which will come from the Department of Cultural Affairs’ Targeted Initiatives grant program, will be used to support MOCA’s efforts to continue its growth as a leading cultural institution focused on making contemporary art accessible to one of the most diverse audiences in the country, delivering accessible and inclusive education and outreach programs in Miami-Dade County and beyond.

MOCA conducts a wide range of arts programs for all ages, including rotating exhibitions, afterschool arts classes, field trips, teacher training workshops, lectures, its monthly Jazz @ MOCA concerts and more.

“As one of the preeminent cultural institutions in Miami-Dade County, MOCA is an extremely worthy recipient of these grant moneys, which will allow the museum to continue expanding its programs to benefit and enrich the community,” Chairman Monestime said.
