(MIAMI-DADE, FL) – For the second year in a row, the Miami Central Rockets defeated the Miami Northwestern Bulls, keeping the coveted Commissioner’s Cup in District 2. The game took place at the Traz Powell Stadium, located on the campus of Miami-Dade College North Campus.

The 16 to 0 victory was received with joy by Miami-Dade County Commission Chairman Jean Monestime, who represents District 2. “I am elated my team was able to keep the cup and that Miami Central High proved once more just how good their football team is,” he said.

The game was sponsored by Chairman Jean Monestime and District 3 County Commissioner Audrey M. Edmonson, whose district includes Miami Northwestern High. Two other trophies were presented by Chairman Monestime: Most Valuable Defensive Player of the Year to Keir Thomas, and Most Valuable Offensive Player of the Year to Quarterback Jerrod Thomas.
