Haitian History Bee set for May 25


(MIAMI-DADE, FL) – Miami-Dade County Commission Chairman Jean Monestime will host the Fifth Annual Haitian History Bee Championship on Wednesday, May 25 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the Miami-Dade County Commission Chamber on the second floor of the Stephen P. Clark Center, 111 NW 1st St.

Schools will compete for trophies and prizes as students get quizzed on their knowledge of Haitian history.

"This annual event gets young people excited about learning about another country such as Haiti and its history, which fosters better mutual understanding and self-esteem among our diverse population," Chairman Monestime said.
