Chairman Jean Monestime holds meeting to plan for Haiti relief efforts

MIAMI – In light of the impending impact of Hurricane Matthew in Haiti, Miami-Dade County Commission Chairman Jean Monestime held a meeting with community leaders at the district office on the evening of Oct. 3, 2016 to plan for relief efforts.

At the meeting, the Consul General of Haiti and representatives from the Office of Senator Bill Nelson, Office of Congresswoman Frederica Wilson, Miami-Dade County, Miami-Dade County Public Schools, City of North Miami, City of Miramar, Palm Beach County, Island TV, and Sant La discussed different options for relief efforts to the nation of Haiti.

“This is very unfortunate, Haiti is still recovering from the 2010 earthquake,” said Chairman Jean Monestime. “My prayers are with the residents and visitors of Haiti, Dominican Republic, Jamaica, Cuba, and the Bahamas.”
