MIAMI-DADE – Miami-Dade County Commissioner Jean Monestime hosted a sign unveiling for the Gratigny Neighborhood Association on March 19 at 1110 NW 108th St. in Miami.

“This sign unveiling is the result of years of hard work and determination,” Commissioner Monestime said. “Our office collaborated with these homeowners to meet the wants and needs of the community.”

Commissioner Monestime and Gratigny Neighborhood Association board members unveiled the sign together in unison as residents in the audience cheered.

Mary Bennett, founding member of the homeowners association, which was established in 1996, said: “We started this group with only five or six members because we wanted to keep our neighborhood clean and have a say in what happens in neighborhood.”

Jeanette Blocker, current president of the homeowners association, said: “I’m proud to see this sign here today as a result of all our hard work.”
