Chairwoman Edmonson’s statement on the anniversary of Parkland shooting

MIAMI-DADE – “On the first anniversary of the tragic shooting at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School in Parkland, we remember and honor all the lives lost and the survivors. As Chairwoman of the Miami-Dade County Commission, I have made fighting the epidemic of gun violence one of my top priorities, because every child has the right to grow and learn in peace and safety – in their neighborhoods as well as in their schools. Working together with law enforcement, our school system and community-based organizations, we must end this plague of violence, because the loss of even one life to senseless gun violence is one life too many,” said Miami-Dade County Commission Chairwoman Audrey M. Edmonson.
