MIAMI-DADE – In celebration of Dominican-American Cultural Heritage Week, Miami-Dade County Commission Chairwoman Audrey M. Edmonson had the pleasure of once again reading to students at the Latinos United After-School Program in Allapattah in District 3.

Located in the heart of “Little Santo Domingo,” Latinos United offers tutoring and mentoring to grade school children, many of whom are learning English as a second language.

Chairwoman Edmonson, invited each year by Latinos United Executive Director Dr. Amada Vargas, was joined by other “special guest readers” from Miami's Dominican-American community. The Chairwoman read “Love You Forever,” a book that teaches children that, when they grow up in a home with parents who love and protect them, they grow up to be good loving parents too.
