Miami-Dade County Commission to meet at Arsht Center on April 7 to consider emergency and time-sensitive matters
MIAMI – The next regular meeting of the Miami-Dade County Commission will take place on Tuesday, April 7 at 9:30 a.m. at the Adrienne Arsht Center, Knight Concert Hall, 1300 Biscayne Boulevard.
The Arsht Center venue was chosen because its large seating capacity allows for County Commissioners, County staff and the public to be seated in a manner that complies with the social distancing public health guidelines in place as a result of the coronavirus/COVID-19 pandemic, which recommend maintaining a distance of six feet.
At this time, it is not anticipated that there will be public hearing items that will be considered at the April 7 regular meeting. The agenda will be limited only to items that (i) address COVID-19 impacts on our community, and (ii) are time-sensitive, emergency in nature, or relate to critical County operations.
The meeting will be televised on Miami-Dade TV and streamed live on the County website at miamidade.gov/webcasting for any member of the public who wishes to watch the meeting but does not want to attend in person.
“It is my intention to follow the guidelines of the Centers of Disease Control and Prevention and the Florida Department of Health regarding social isolation. Therefore, we are requesting that all Commissioners, members of the public and staff adhere to those guidelines for purposes of the meeting,” said Miami-Dade County Commission Chairwoman Audrey M. Edmonson. “The health and safety of Miami-Dade County residents comes first.”
