Commissioner Keon Hardemon secures millions for neighborhood projects

Commissioner Hardemon secured $3 million for the revitalization of the NW 18th Avenue business corridor, formally a vital business district in Liberty City that has declined over decades. $2 million is dedicated to affordable housing within the district toward the construction and rehabilitation of affordable and public housing and the acquisition of workforce housing. $500,000 was also secured for The Historic Hampton House to further its programing and position as the iconic cultural and social site in the Brownsville neighborhood.
Additional funding was secured for The Liberty City Optimist Club and Curley’s House Food bank, two community organizations that provide essential services to the residents of Miami-Dade County.
