Miami-Dade County Commission and State Legislative Delegation to hold joint meeting to discuss critical priorities


MIAMI-DADE – The Miami-Dade County Commission will hold a joint meeting with the Miami-Dade State Legislative Delegation to discuss the County’s critical priorities for the upcoming 2019 state legislative session in Tallahassee. The joint meeting will take place on Monday, Feb. 25 from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at the Adrienne Arsht Center, Ziff Ballet Opera House, Peacock Foundation Studio, 1300 Biscayne Blvd. in Miami.

The event is open to the public, and free validated parking is available for anyone wishing to attend.

The County Commission approved a list of state legislative priorities on Oct. 25, 2018 and expanded it on Feb. 20, 2019. The legislative wish list includes more state funding for a variety of critical programs including affordable housing, school safety, crime reduction and enhancing public transportation under the SMART Plan, as well as fighting sea level rise and opposing a property insurance rate increase.
