Chairwoman Audrey M. Edmonson to return from business mission trip to Africa aboard Royal Air Maroc’s inaugural flight to Miami
MIAMI – Miami-Dade County Commission Chairwoman Audrey M. Edmonson will arrive from her business mission trip to Africa aboard Royal Air Maroc’s inaugural flight to Miami International Airport on Wednesday, April 3, at 9:30 p.m.
Upon her arrival, Chairwoman Edmonson will join other Miami-Dade County officials, Moroccan Ambassador Princess Lalla Joumala and other dignitaries in a ribbon-cutting ceremony to welcome the airline, which will begin three weekly flights between Miami and Casablanca, creating MIA's first nonstop passenger service to Africa since 2000 and Florida's only nonstop service to the continent.
Chairwoman Edmonson departed on March 22 for her mission trip to South Africa, Kenya and Ethiopia to explore trade opportunities on behalf of Miami-Dade County and strengthen economic and cultural ties across the Atlantic.
