Chairwoman Edmonson to celebrate Liberty City vet center grand opening
MIAMI – Miami-Dade County Commission Chairwoman Audrey M. Edmonson will celebrate the grand opening of the ASPCA Community Veterinary Center in Liberty City on Monday, Oct. 28 at 11 a.m. at 1320 NW 62nd Street.
The facility is the result of a public-private partnership between the County and the American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals. Under an agreement approved by the County Commission in 2016, the County and the ASPCA split the construction cost, and the ASPCA will operate the center.
The new vet center meets an important need in the Liberty City area, which lacked veterinary service providers despite having among the highest rate of strays in the County. The facility will provide spay/neuter surgeries and other preventive and basic veterinary care for animals at reduced or no cost to Miami-Dade pet owners.
