Commissioner Eileen Higgins Launches 2025 Mom & Pop Small Business Grant in District 5
MIAMI-DADE – Commissioner Eileen Higgins is excited to announce the opening of the 2025 Mom and Pop Small Business Grant in District 5, effective Monday, May 12, 2025. This initiative is designed to support local small businesses by offering grants of up to $2,500 for essential business needs.
“Small businesses are the backbone of our community, and supporting them is essential for the continued growth and economic vitality of District 5,” said Commissioner Eileen Higgins. “The Mom and Pop Small Business Grant provides a direct way to assist local entrepreneurs with the resources they need to grow and succeed.”
Applications for the grant are now open and can be submitted via ElevateDistrict5.com. All applications must be emailed to [email protected] by Friday, May 23, 2025, at 5:00 PM.
Eligible businesses in District 5 can apply for funding to help cover a variety of business needs, including inventory and supplies, equipment, marketing, advertising, professional services, and more.
Eligibility Requirements:
- Physical address within District 5
- 1-10 employees, including the owner
- At least one year in operation
- Must be a for-profit business
- Home-based businesses are eligible to apply
- Only one application per business owner will be accepted
Applications should be submitted via email to [email protected]. Late or incomplete applications will be automatically disqualified. A selection committee, composed of small business owners and community leaders, will review all applications.
