Commissioner Sosa secures additional funding for Jackson ER and medical offices in her district

MIAMI-DADE COUNTY, FL – On June 15, 2021, County Commissioners unanimously approved legislation from Commissioner Rebeca Sosa allocating an additional $2 million, on top of the over $8.5 million she has already secured, to build a Jackson Health System freestanding emergency department and medical offices in her district at 3737 SW 8th Street and 36 Oviedo Avenue. The proposed emergency department will consist of a CT Scanner and Radiology/Fluoroscopy, two resuscitation rooms, eight exam rooms, and support spaces. The medical offices will have six exam rooms and support spaces where primary care, cardiology, gastroenterology, and orthopedic services will be provided.

“Our residents deserve easy and convenient access to the great health care offered by the Jackson Health System,” said Commissioner Sosa. “It is my hope that this center will help save lives and improve the health and wellbeing of the residents of my district and the community as a whole.”
