Commissioner Kevin Marino Cabrera and Hialeah Mayor Esteban Bovo announces launch of Summer Swimming Lessons and Scholarship Program in Hialeah

MIAMI-DADE – In recognition of National Drowning Prevention Month, Miami-Dade County Commissioner Kevin Marino Cabrera, in partnership with Hialeah Mayor Esteban Bovo, is proud to announce the kickoff of a Summer Swim Scholarship Program at Babcock Park in Hialeah.

"I am thrilled to announce the launch of our Summer Swim Scholarship Program at Babcock Park and other pools in the City of Hialeah. Living in Miami-Dade County means being surrounded by pools, beaches, and waterways, and we must equip our children with proper swimming skills," said Commissioner Cabrera

"I want to thank Hialeah Mayor Steve Bovo for his invaluable collaboration and support. Working together, we can ensure that children learn to swim while promoting a healthier and more active lifestyle," added Commissioner Cabrera.

The Summer Swim Scholarship Program will offer free swimming lessons to eligible children residing in District 6. The program will be run by certified instructors and will follow all necessary safety protocols and guidelines.
