Commissioner Kevin Marino Cabrera announces passage of resolution to streamline permitting process in Miami-Dade

MIAMI-DADE – Today, the Board of County Commissioners unanimously approved a resolution sponsored by Commissioner Kevin Marino Cabrera establishing a more efficient and customer-friendly permitting process in Miami-Dade County.

“I decided to run for office after facing challenges while applying for a septic-to-sewer permit. Seeing firsthand the struggles faced by residents and businesses, I knew we had to make some changes. Our community deserves a simpler, more transparent, and user-friendly process,” said Commissioner Cabrera. “Today's passage of this resolution is a significant milestone and demonstrates that we are moving in the right direction. Together, we are creating a permitting system that meets the needs of our community and contributes to the overall progress and prosperity of Miami-Dade County,” added Commissioner Cabrera.

The resolution focuses on centralizing the permitting process through the establishment of a centralized online web-based portal and physical facility. These resources will empower residents and businesses to conveniently access permit information, track approval statuses, and engage in coordinated meetings to address plan review comments. This consolidation effectively eliminates the need for individuals to navigate through multiple locations and interact with numerous personnel.
