Commissioner Natalie Milian Orbis Launches 2025 Mom and Pop Small Business Grant Program
MIAMI-DADE – Commissioner Natalie Milian Orbis announces the launch of the 2025 Mom and Pop Small Business Grant Program, offering up to $5,000 in funding to help eligible small businesses.
“My father ran a small business for decades, and I grew up watching the long hours, the tough decisions, and the pride that came with building something of your own,” said Commissioner Natalie Milian Orbis. “I know how much opportunity and support can mean to a family—because I lived it. This program is about making sure our local entrepreneurs have the resources they need to keep going, keep growing, and keep giving back to our community.”
The grant can be used for essential expenses such as equipment, inventory, marketing, minor renovations, and more. Eligible applicants must be for-profit businesses in operation for at least one year, with a physical address in District 6. Home-based businesses are welcome to apply.
Applications will be available starting June 2, 2025, and must be picked up in person at the District 6 Office, located at 1000 SW 57th Ave., Suite 201, Miami, FL 33144. Completed applications must be submitted between June 16 and June 23, 2025, by 4 p.m.
To assist interested applicants, two informational workshops will be held:
- Wednesday, June 4, 2025 | 10 a.m.
West Miami Recreation Center – 1700 SW 62nd Ave., Miami, FL 33155 - Tuesday, June 10, 2025 | 6 p.m.
