Commissioner Natalie Milian Orbis Announces Voucher Program for the Expectant Mothers Parking Permit

MIAMI-DADE – Commissioner Natalie Milian Orbis announces a new initiative designed to support expecting mothers: a voucher program that covers the cost of the Expectant Mothers Parking Permit, exclusively available to qualifying residents of District 6.

This voucher will allow expecting mothers to access designated accessible parking spaces and make it easier to attend medical appointments, visit grocery stores, and access other essential services.

“As a mother of two, I know how strong and resilient moms are - but I also know how important it is to offer support where it is needed most”, said Commissioner Milian Orbis. “This voucher is more than just a helpful resource - it is a commitment to the health and well-being of mothers in our community. When we support moms, we support entire families, and we make the real-life needs of our families a priority.”

This initiative builds on the Commissioners’ record of championing family-focused policies. Upon her appointment, Commissioner Milian Orbis co-sponsored Ordinance No. 25-45, which expanded stroller-friendly parking spaces throughout Miami-Dade County. This ordinance ensures that adults transporting young children - especially parents with strollers - have easier access to designated parking spaces at shopping centers, parks, and public facilities.

“From stroller-friendly spaces to expectant mother permits, these efforts reflect my deep belief that local government must meet families where they are”, added Commissioner Milian Orbis.

Expecting mothers residing in District 6 can apply for the voucher through the District 6 office.
