Commissioner Suarez sponsoring free small business seminars
MIAMI – Small business is the engine that drives the U.S. economy. According to the Small Business Administration, there’s nothing small about the amount of money generated by small businesses across the nation. This “little engine” creates 60 to 80 percent of new jobs each year and delivers 54 percent of U.S. sales in the non-farming gross domestic product (GDP), which is roughly $6 trillion every year.
The importance of small businesses cannot be overstated. That is why Commissioner Xavier L. Suarez – in partnership with Miami Bayside Foundation, Miami Dade College, the Florida Department of Economic Opportunity, and the Greater Miami Convention & Visitors Bureau – is providing a series of free training seminars to help local entrepreneurs take their businesses to the next level. The free seminars will begin Thursday, Oct. 10, 2019 and will culminate November 14, 2019 at Gibson Education Center, 3629 Grand Avenue in Coconut Grove.
Workshops will cover business plan development, brand marketing, social media marketing, marketing analytics/projections, IT and human resources, and protecting your business policies, as well as preparation to pitch to prospective clients and lenders.
“This is our 12th series geared towards business with 51 percent or more minority owners. It has become a very useful tool for these businesses. We incorporate the expertise of over 20 specialists and are lucky to have great partners who help us make this happen,” said Kathleen Murphy, Executive Director of Miami Bayside Foundation.
